My granddaughter and her friend (both new mums) have been told by the proprietor of a Pudsey centre cafe not to come in during the hours of 11am to 3pm as their pushchairs take up too much room. I find this rather a silly move on his part as they used to be regular lunch customers and the cafe was never full. I have been with her myself and can vouch for this. He has not only lost their custom, but that of their families and friends who will not be eating in this cafe in the future. She has a wide circle of friends who are also mums and therefore the snowball of lost customer will grow and grow as word gets around. Are young mums not supposed to eat lunch? They went to another newly opened cafe where they experienced a very friendly welcome. Guess where they will be going in future?
