I don't know how many folk are aware of this, but a planning application is currently being made to change Bargain City, in Church Lane into an adult amusement arcade. Statutory notices concerning this have recently been removed from their sites close to the shop.

I don't know what others think, but I think that Pudsey is already well served by gambling establishments, and that we do not need another - and that Bargain City was already serving a useful purpose in bringing a greater variety of shopping to Pudsey centre. Now looks as though it was intended merely as a cover for other intended activities. Unfortunately, removal of the notices has meant removal of information such as the reference number whereby comments can be made to the Council planning department. Fortunately, I have made a note of it. It is P/06/03264/FU/W, for the benefit of those who would like to try to influence matters - or even those who would like to support the application.
